Mothers Day Make Over....Black and White Glam!!!

For Mothers Day, I was really happy to get dolled up in my hair, make up, heels etc.  I wanted to celebrate motherhood looking and thinking on top of my game.  ;-) That's all I ever want LOL.  I pin curled my hair .........which gave me this FABULOUS sort of Old Hollywood side flowing curls and applied a full face of make up (Nothing says glam like a red lip!).

I had been waiting for the perfect occasion to where this dress I got last year from an online store called Sabo Skirt. <3 <3 <3

 Shoes-Bakers
Color of Nails - White :-)
I thought I should capture this idea in Black and White!

I felt soooooo good on the inside and out! I was radiating with confidence.......which is why I kept making Skylar take more photos! haha

As a little girl I wanted to be a fashion designer and/or stylist! I have a knack for fashion and over all imagery! Although I have yet to finish my Fashion Design degree....I think it is appropriate to say I am a Stylist in all areas. "I am a every women, it's all in me........!!! Anything you want done babay I'll do it naturally"! LOL

I love what I do and my industry! I am truly passionate and use "it" in all areas of my life.  I understand the feeling of getting dressed with all the small details that make a big difference for only a couple of hours.  To "play a part" and "dream" of an image you were not born with.  It really means the world to some of us and I am here to make that happen! I have a journey ahead of me and I am ready to stay on the road I was born to take!! :-)

Here is to.........the glamorous side of black and white PLUS.....LIVING OUT YOUR DREAMS!! ;-)

I SAY YES......YES TO.....B-B CREAM!!

I have seen it on commercials and heard about it on-line.  I never truly thought I would use or need it.  But as time went on I really wanted a tinted moisturizer to use on "no make-up days" but still look put together.  Not only does BB Cream do that, but it seriously makes my skin seem light, healthy and soft.

I am wearing Dream Fresh Beauty Balm Deep Sheer Tint by Maybelline $8.00 (From Target) Natural lighting from my kitchen @ 10am
  •  Blurs imperfections
  • Brightens
  • Evens skin-tone
  • Smoothes
  • Hydrates
  • Enhances
  • Protects with SPF 30
  • 0% Oils and heavy ingredients

I can also use it as a primer if I am applying foundation for nights out or during the winter months.  I really like the idea of makeup and skin care combinations!! It will improve your skin over time, NOT break it out!!  I"M ON THIS TRAIN!! and want to learn more about it!!

During the spring and summer months make-up can sweat off, melt off and look unflattering.  Most of us need something lightweight to give our skin a nice shimmery glow.  This cream is sheer, so it DOES NOT give you full coverage!  Acne, pimples or blemishes will not be covered by this product only, so it's perfect for use with concealer and/or powder.

I would also suggest this if you are new to the foundation world. :-)) You could also try Tinted Moisturizers, Glow Creams, CC Creams etc.! Have you jumped on this train? lol Let me know what you think.

Here's to Beauty Balm 8 in 1 :-)......

Are you wearing make up?.... Of course not LOL

Pintrest Haul! ;-)

Pinterest!!!!......I currently feel like it is taking over my life. Lol  If you use Pinterest you know what I am talking about.  So many categories and ideas to Pin up.  Whether it's for inspiration, ideas to use, DIY, or just to look at pictures......it's Ahhhhmazballs! hahaha

I look at it as my overloaded online Dream Board! I want to rate and share some of the ideas that I have used on my own.  It's a really fun way to test your creativity and set "realistic" goals for yourself.  Resulting in a Pinterest addiction......

Hull Strawberries using a Straw! Visit 25 clever ideas to make life easier!
I think this is a great idea when you need a lot of strawberries!  The strawberries get stuck in the straw, then I had to find something thin and strong to push all of it out.  Overall a useful tip!

#2

I tried getting this pot clean for a good 2 weeks before I decided to search Pinterest.  I Boiled Vinegar in my burnt pot for 5 min, washed/scrubbed as normal and........"Ding" my pot was good as new! :-)

#3

I added some white rice and a fresh pre-packaged stir-fry.  I believe this was a healthy worry free home cooked meal.  I used to struggle with my food not turning out like the picture with the recipe.  I now realize, it will always be "my version" of........(the meal).  But it looks pretty good right?  Click HERE to get this recipe.

#4

( This meal was inspired by Oven Baked Tacos) But I decided not to duplicate.

 My Taco Style
1) Deep fried tortilla shells dipped in store bought Queso sauce (Next time I will try the Queso dip recipe I found because I was not impressed)
2)Taco Bell Seasoning
3)Tomato, Avocado, Mexican style Cheese, Sour Cream, Mild Sauce

Last but not least :-) My sister-in-law was over and showed me this idea (from Pinterest), we tried it and honestly it didn't work.  It stayed light for a couple of seconds but I am so interested that I will be trying it again! :-)

That's all folks :-)

Here is to to trying new things at home thanks to......PINTEREST!!!

Another way to KEEP great skin!!

Make up brushes can be big investments so proper care is important.  Washing your brushes will limit breakouts and skin irritations.  All you need is soap and water and maybe a quick cleanser such as MAC Brush Cleanser  for in between jobs.

Whether real or synthetic I always use a mild soap (usually baby shampoo).  Simply rotate your brush in a circular motion on your hand or flat surface, repeat as needed, then rinse in cold/warm water with brushes facing the drain.  Try not to drown the brushes in water because the hair is glued to the base and bristles will start to fall off. :-(  If you are worried about using too much water while cleaning, use a bowl for cleaning and one for rinsing.

Next, genitally squeeze out moisture with towel or fingers, shape bristles back to original shape and either let them hang off the side of something or place upright in a brush holder.

Here is to clean brushes for beautiful flawless skin!

Ombre Valentine

Of course I wore red on Valentines. :-)  I used a velvet lip technique and came up with a great cocktail with the same color palette as my lips.  It turned out perfect and smooth like Velvet!

Ombre Valentine

This lip technique gives the lips an ombre effect, starting with one color and fading into another.  You can apply as much or as little resulting in greater dimension. Blend well!
Shell cream color base as a highlight under brow and on cheek bone.
Pink nails from the day before but it adds the perfect touch*.....Who says red and pink don't mesh well?

Step by Step........

All about the LIPS:
Satin M.A.C Red - prime and moister
Matte Russian Red - no shine, velvet finish
Outline - coffee eye pencil - Mac

I was inspired by Pinterest to use Pomegranate juice and Citrus Vodka.  I have experience as a bartender so I figured I could handle the rest. ;-)  I garnished a glass with one raspberry and one blackberry and added a squeeze of fresh lime juice.  It was a perfect combination for the occasion.  The picture I took was great because it captured the ombre effect do to the blackberry sinking to the bottom.

I thought this was a great pic taken with my IPad!

Valentines day!

Here's to living for the occasion!!! ;-)
