Pintrest Haul! ;-)

Pinterest!!!!......I currently feel like it is taking over my life. Lol  If you use Pinterest you know what I am talking about.  So many categories and ideas to Pin up.  Whether it's for inspiration, ideas to use, DIY, or just to look at pictures......it's Ahhhhmazballs! hahaha

I look at it as my overloaded online Dream Board! I want to rate and share some of the ideas that I have used on my own.  It's a really fun way to test your creativity and set "realistic" goals for yourself.  Resulting in a Pinterest addiction......

#1
Hull Strawberries using a Straw! Visit 25 clever ideas to make life easier!
I think this is a great idea when you need a lot of strawberries!  The strawberries get stuck in the straw, then I had to find something thin and strong to push all of it out.  Overall a useful tip!

#2

I tried getting this pot clean for a good 2 weeks before I decided to search Pinterest.  I Boiled Vinegar in my burnt pot for 5 min, washed/scrubbed as normal and........"Ding" my pot was good as new! :-)

#3

I added some white rice and a fresh pre-packaged stir-fry.  I believe this was a healthy worry free home cooked meal.  I used to struggle with my food not turning out like the picture with the recipe.  I now realize, it will always be "my version" of........(the meal).  But it looks pretty good right?  Click HERE to get this recipe.

#4

( This meal was inspired by Oven Baked Tacos) But I decided not to duplicate.

 My Taco Style
1) Deep fried tortilla shells dipped in store bought Queso sauce (Next time I will try the Queso dip recipe I found because I was not impressed)
2)Taco Bell Seasoning
3)Tomato, Avocado, Mexican style Cheese, Sour Cream, Mild Sauce

Last but not least :-) My sister-in-law was over and showed me this idea (from Pinterest), we tried it and honestly it didn't work.  It stayed light for a couple of seconds but I am so interested that I will be trying it again! :-)

That's all folks :-)

Here is to to trying new things at home thanks to......PINTEREST!!!

Another way to KEEP great skin!!

Make up brushes can be big investments so proper care is important.  Washing your brushes will limit breakouts and skin irritations.  All you need is soap and water and maybe a quick cleanser such as MAC Brush Cleanser  for in between jobs.

Whether real or synthetic I always use a mild soap (usually baby shampoo).  Simply rotate your brush in a circular motion on your hand or flat surface, repeat as needed, then rinse in cold/warm water with brushes facing the drain.  Try not to drown the brushes in water because the hair is glued to the base and bristles will start to fall off. :-(  If you are worried about using too much water while cleaning, use a bowl for cleaning and one for rinsing.

Next, genitally squeeze out moisture with towel or fingers, shape bristles back to original shape and either let them hang off the side of something or place upright in a brush holder.

Here is to clean brushes for beautiful flawless skin!

Ombre Valentine

Of course I wore red on Valentines. :-)  I used a velvet lip technique and came up with a great cocktail with the same color palette as my lips.  It turned out perfect and smooth like Velvet!

Ombre Valentine

This lip technique gives the lips an ombre effect, starting with one color and fading into another.  You can apply as much or as little resulting in greater dimension. Blend well!
Shell cream color base as a highlight under brow and on cheek bone.
Pink nails from the day before but it adds the perfect touch*.....Who says red and pink don't mesh well?

Step by Step........

All about the LIPS:
Satin M.A.C Red - prime and moister
Matte Russian Red - no shine, velvet finish
Outline - coffee eye pencil - Mac

I was inspired by Pinterest to use Pomegranate juice and Citrus Vodka.  I have experience as a bartender so I figured I could handle the rest. ;-)  I garnished a glass with one raspberry and one blackberry and added a squeeze of fresh lime juice.  It was a perfect combination for the occasion.  The picture I took was great because it captured the ombre effect do to the blackberry sinking to the bottom.

I thought this was a great pic taken with my IPad!

Valentines day!

Here's to living for the occasion!!! ;-)

Me, A Domestic Diva?

Seriously Satisfying! So I have been turning over a new leaf of health in my house.  I am on a journey to change our eating habits and limit fast food as much as possible!  I really felt like I was giving my children the best meals possible, but in reality it was a lot of talk and no action.

I Love baking!! So I will bake cakes, cookies, and cinnamon rolls etc.  And for the past 4 years I have been known to make some mean Holiday dinners!  Although sooooo good a lot of these foods are processed, fattening, and drain our energy.  I have been slacking on healthy "everyday" meals and snacks.

We all know anything homemade is better for you right?  I have only mastered a few things from scratch and my goal is to master many more.  I have been conscious of these decisions everyday almost everyday (lol) for almost a month now and I can totally tell a difference in my whole family.

Thanks to deep prayer, meditation, and journal entries I have made this defined strength adjustment in soooo many parts of my life, and I am feeling more energetic, confident, and all around happy!

Me with Sweetie Pies Mac and Cheese (There are many recipes out there! Just make sure to add *white pepper and *sour cream) :-)

So with that being said I want to share a simple healthier choice to potato chips.  Me and my girls love these.  I have actually been eating Kale since it got a lot of hype in the media. My girls love to help in the kitchen so it's super simple for them to rip the kale into pieces.

1) Wash Kale
2) Rip Kale into pieces
3) Sprinkle Olive Oil, Sea Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper (It's the best!!!)
4) Bake in oven for 10-15min or until your desired crispness

I am a Susie homemaker in training! ;-) The chips crunch,  plus the olive oil and salt give it a greasy chip taste.  But of course I still love my Doritos every once in a while! lol

Here's to baking Kale!

Homemade Valentines!

I forget how talented I am sometimes because almost everything is made ready to buy at the store.  Using my creativity helps me exercise my brain (think), relieves stress and gives me great confidence.  I hope to pass these ways to my children so they understand confidence and all the ways to "get er done" :-)

Nothing like starting with Arts & Crafts at home!  Home Schooling at its best!

Last year, at this time I was in school so my girls went to a daycare.  These ideas didn't even cross my mind.  Laylah was not as skilled in writing and Scarlett wasn't even a year old.  We just went out and bought cartoon character Valentines like Olivia and Yo Gabba Gabba.

This year we are doing it in the eyes of Styles of Candyland.  On our own, inspired by, independent, using our hands and getting dirty! :-)

I didn't have to go to the store to make these.  Everything we used I found right here at home.

1) Construction Paper
2) Crayons, Markers, Paint
3) Scissors
4) Toilet Paper roll (Pinterest idea)
5) Glue

 1) Printed hearts from the Internet
2) Laylah wrote names, colored, and glued small hearts
3) Stamped cardboard toilet paper roll into a heart (Pinterest Arts and Crafts) w/ paint
4) Finally we need to think of a treat to glue/tape....healthy or junk?

Family, Friends or School Friends...... this is a great idea!  Laylah will be proud and ready to hand out her Valentines cards!!

If you have other homemade ideas please let me know! Or if you think the 4 year olds should have more junk food or a healthy treat?

Here's to homemade Love.......Thanks for reading!!
