GETTIN MY SEXY BACK!

I have taken my beauty regimen to a whole nother level!  Adding It Works beauty products to my independent business Styles of Candyland!! :-)) I am really excited to get my sexy back ;-) and feel confident in some old clothes.

Today I will be informing you about the Ultimate Body Applicator.  It's a lotion-infused, cloth wrap loaded with botanical extracts commonly used to increase circulation, elasticity and collagen production, reduce cellulite, skin hydration and repair.

I have always had a small frame, but after reaching 28 going on 30 WHOOP!!! , 2 kids and never exercising I found myself on a road to destruction.  I was not happy with the way my clothes fit, trying to squeeze into jeans leaving a muffin top and trying to cover up with a shirt (still working on it). :-))

The It Works opportunity is open to anyone who wants to work from home and has the motivation to get up get out and make it happen.  I highly recommend it if you own a salon, admire the beauty industry, or work out and need extra help for those problem areas!! Whether it's to look firm and tight in your swimming suit or for example fit perfectly into your wedding gown.

With the heightening of at home parties, you can definitely add this to the list!! <3

I was DEFINITELY unsure about jumping into this business as there are many scams etc.  But as far as I am concerned I am jumping on this train because once I started using them there was no question about it because honestly....... IT WORKS!!! :-) Hints the name! :-)

HERE ARE MY PERSONAL RESULTS AFTER ONLY 2 WRAPS!!! (ONE FULL TREATMENT IS 4 WRAPS WHICH IS SUPPLIED IN 1 BOX)

Although there is different lighting there is no filter! 100% taken in my home with my 5 year old daughter pushing the button to take the photo! ;-)

I had this brilliant idea to totally work hard and show my results when I was totally satisfied with the way I look but..... uummmmm will I ever be satisfied? LOL  And so many women alike want to know the truth and see real people with real results that show they can do it too.

This is NOT an amazing miracle worker..... it takes true dedication unless you are looking for a quick fix for a short amount of time...... for example I can not wrap one day then eat fast food for a week and expect to look the same! :-) Life isn't that good to us! :-)

Costume/Fashion Jewelry Care

I want to share some information with all girls alike :-)) and guys ;-) about limiting costume and fashion jewelry from tarnishing and fading making some pieces last many seasons to come.

As far as shopping for my jewelry, I strive to buy and provide all my Styles of Candyland customers with the best quality pieces.

Steps to take proper care..........

  • I usually store my fine jewelry in my jewelry box separate from my costume jewelry, which  always has a new place do to my DIY projects ......... check this one out.....Tank Top! :-)

  • It's EVEN BETTER to store your costume jewelry in a plastic Ziploc bag if you do not own  jewelry pouches/bags/boxes, which I make sure all my customers receive with there purchase! :-)

  • Most importantly be cautious of water and any other type of moisture for example but not limited to perfumes and lotions.  If this happens wipe it off immediately!

  • Never use silver cleaner, alcohol or soap........ if anything personally I MIGHT use Windex to shine something up........ but rarely! :-)

  • Use a Soft cloth to wipe debir and/or shine!

We all know they don't last FOREVER! But................

Here is to helping your costume jewelry last for Seasons to come!! :-)

A Modern 40s / 50s Look

This particular style had me channeling the forties & fifties.

Starting with my hair, I tried the same technique in my last blog Curly Hair but it really didn't come out the same, but I still loved it.  I did bigger sections so they ended up with a slight wave, like pin curls, and they were moisturized and smooth.  Which took my look in a totally new direction.

I focused on darker fall colors for my make up and tried new eyelashes.  MUST HAVE LIPS FOR FALL...... PLUMS, VIOLETS, PURPLES!!! VAMP!

Lips: Cover Girl / Color: Euphoria

 Eyelashes

Brand:  Kiss / These are a little more challenging to place on your lashes because the band is a little more firm and doesn't bend as well.  Each lash is lined up thinner on the inside and gets thicker in the middle towards the outside.  Reminds me of a smokey eyed eyelash :-/ :-))

Dress

Dress:  Windsor
Shoes: Pictured HERE

The top of the peplum dress was a khaki color with a super sexy low cut neckline.  The bottom half of the dress is black and made it very sophisticated and business like.  Along with the classic style pumps modernized with a capped toe.

NAILS
Revlon: Vixen / Shape: Square

Bracelets

Here is to channeling older styles in a modern world and "dressing up" where ever you go!

Putting a look together takes lots of inspiration from your surroundings, thoughts and imagination.  I love putting it together in real life for the girl who dreams.

Black and Gold.....FALL KICK OFF!!!

I feel like this was my first official kick-off to my fall wardrobe and I have to say I was feeling chic and elegant with an urban flare. ;-)

If you haven't got the Gold memo....... it's time to listen up!! GOLD IS HAUGHT, HAUGHT HAUGHT!!!!  Next time you are shopping in the mall, take a look around......Gold is trending and Silver is taking a back seat.  Of course this only applies to folks who like to stay up-to-date and fashion forward.  Please do not get offended, fashion conversations get real serious lol.

I would have to say I find great pleasure in a large gold chain linked necklace.  I still get excited about putting it on!  I sold this particular necklace pictured with my dress in my Styles of Candyland boutique which I no longer carry.  I do have more of a variety coming soon on my website or Click Here to purchase a more casual 3 chains necklace!!

http://contributors.luckymag.com/post/gold-chain-necklaces-jewelry-trend

I really like the large classic link because it has more of an urban edge for me, but as you see there are many ways to reinvent this gold necklace and make it relevant to your style.

Curly Hair and (Natural) Eyelash

I curled my hair today with a 1 inch Marcel curling iron, which is a tool I learned to curl with in cosmetology school.  It takes practice to use and can sometimes crap my hand/wrist if not used correctly.

PRODUCTS

I started by curling away from my face 1 to 1 1/2 inch sections of hair.  I did not comb the curls out until they were all done to make sure the curl keeps it's shape!

When I was done curling the hair I broke up the hair with my fingers and Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling treatment oil to break up the hair.

Here are the results......

I have to say, I love it and hope to do this often, with or without extensions!

Here are the eyelashes, Same brand I have been using lately, just a different style.  I would say this is more natural because the lines cross at the band and the hair fibers are thin.  This would work well for beginners!

Here is to curly hair and a natural looking fake eyelash!

OOTD Old Jeans/Blouse/Eyeliner

I want to talk eyeliner because I believe I am going to start playing a little more with mine.  Black eyeliner is extremely dramatic, especially if someone is not used to it.  It really defines your eyes and if you are not used to it, or if it is applied incorrectly, it can be scary!  The same with defining eyebrows, or applying a shocking lip color.  (IT'S SCARY)! hehe

Eyeliner can be worn in so many different ways, light, dark, top lid, lower lid, top & bottom, winged, thin wing, short wing, long wing, thin, thick, you name it, it's your choice.  One thing to say....... ROCK IT!!  <3 <3

I have be trying a WINGED eye, eyeliner applied on the upper lid extended to the outside corner making a "wing".
BUT here is the thing, my eye shape is NOT winged eyeliner friendly, I have a small fold that makes  the line break when I open my eye :-( So I can not apply the wing too high up.  Some techniques do not flatter certain eye shapes, but that does not mean you can not apply it and love the way it looks!

My eye shape is more round so when I apply it "just right" it can give the illusion of a more slanted or cat eye........in a since "more dramatic". :-)

Hollister Co. - Pre-Baby Jeans :-) My favorite when I "dress up" a jean!!
Top: Halter top with ruffles, have no clue where this was purchased,  I've had it for years.

Day Time Maxi (Dress for your Body type)

Since Black & White are one of my favorite combinations, it is only appropriate that I own a striped maxi in this same theme.  I own others, but this by far takes the cake because the lines give my shape an amazing illusion of curves! Whoop

Do you know your body type? Have you ever thought about it?  Here is a beginner body type guide for a stylist to determine the appropriate dress style for a client.  This can be very important when finding a wedding dress, prom or any other "big" event that you need to be dressed appropriately for.

There are always exceptions to the rule. ......these are JUST GUIDELINES!!! <3

http://strictlybridal.com.au/figure-flattery-how-to-find-the-best-wedding-dress-for-your-body-shape/

I am an inverted triangle..............let me explain what this maxi does for me.........

Special thanks to my 5 year old photographer - Laylah :-) lol She was totally willing because I gave her chocolate in exchange!

Dress:  RUE 21!
Do you notice the direction of the vertical lines drawing your eye towards the center making my waist appear thinner? Which makes the outside lines higher giving the illusion of bigger hips!  As well as the back side that draws attention to the small of my back and draws the eye outward on to my gluteus maximus! hehe ;-)

This is what it means to dress for your body type! <3

I practice some commercial modeling and take plenty of pictures for my business so it is important for me to know my angles as to what is flattering to my creative eye.

Lately I have been running / jogging / walking and eating better which helps confidence towards my "two time" pre-baby body!  I need to add weights and/or some type of toning and firming exercises then I'll be set!!

Shoes: Kohls / Candies
It is only appropriate to wear high platform wedges because the dress is way too long otherwise. ;-)  This makes me look extra long and lean!  If wearing flats, hemming without cutting off extra fabric is necessary (In case you want it longer in the future).

Sophisticated @ Forever 21 (Bow top trend)

These are some pieces I put together from Forever 21,  I have heard people say it is for 21 year olds hahaha........ So that means I can't wear it? Or find anything appropriate for my age? LOL PEOPLE, THERE ARE NO RULES IN REAL FASHION!!  (Of course there are some moments ;-)) Are you confident? Does it look good? SELF CONFIDANTS makes all the difference.
People will believe in you, when you believe in yourself.

I used to strive for someone "like" me, in reality we are all different and we will "never" find someone like ourselves.  The more confident I feel in myself the more it will shine on the outside, and I will succeed in places I never thought were possible.

For me, an outfit can boost my energy off the charts! :-)

I LOVE a trend but I try to mix and match, so it's important to mix the trend and the classic pieces together for balance in the outfit.

I didn't get a picture in this outfit.....but here it is.......

Bow Top: Forever 21 (4 seasons ago)
High waisted Pencil Skirt:  Forever 21 (3 seasons)
Mirror Belt: Styles of Candyland
Shoes:  Jessica Simpson (2-3 seasons) Classic Matte Leather

Clean Waxing!!

I have mentioned before that I love getting my eyebrows threaded!!  I still do, but it isn't as convenient for me because I have a wax pot at home and my favorite "threading spa" involves an hour of time for a 5 min service (when my kids tag along :-)).  Which by the way is a huge sacrifice i have given up (for the time being ;-)) because I really really really LOVE getting them threaded!!!

I have tried to tackle the threading skill but it's just not for me at this time, so I have fallen in love with my wax pot again!!!

While waxing my eyebrows I prided myself on how clean I have kept my pot ;-) You deserve the same thing right??? REMEMBER: there should be no double dipping! Imagine someone just double dipped while performing a Brazilian right before your lip and eye wax ewww haha (I'm sure it has happen.........we just don't want to know about it.  It's all about sanitation safety to keep from spreading "germs", disease, dirt, bugs :-?, etc. lol  Anyway...........................

Here is to waxing your eyebrows with a clean pot!! :-)

And cheers to everyone who gets there eyebrows threaded, I'm jelly LOL

Handbag Display!

I use to throw all my handbags in a bag or close them up and forget I had them.  Of course I DREAM of a walk in closet set up like a clothing store!!!!!!!!! :-)  Until then, I will improvise and do what I can :-).

If you are still using plastic bags, have old news paper or saved stuffing from the purchase, recycle it and stuff them in your bags when you are not using them.  Make them nice and plump like you see in a department store.  This helps keep your bags in great shape, firm and smooth.  I especially do this with my designer bags to keep them in tip top shape for resale, trade, or keepsake!!

Even if you do not have room to display them......at least try to keep them plump ;-)

I am learning to cherish my pieces and take care of them! :-) LOVE IT..........here are a few pics......it makes a huge difference!

FROM CLASSIC TO GLAM!!!

Always looking to spice things up!! ;-) I decided to turn an old clutch into something new.  I went to Hobby Lobby and brought 3 spools of faux feathers and sewed about 4 straps on each side.  I used fabric glue for a quick, easy, seamless closer.  Check It OUT!!....

CLASSIC BEFORE!!

GLAM AFTER!!!

I still adore the classic look.......I just think something original is hard to come by and if I think about it......I make it happen!! ;-)  Plus I can always invest in a new classic clutch. :-)

Tell me........ CLASSIC or GLAM Style??

Mothers Day Make Over....Black and White Glam!!!

For Mothers Day, I was really happy to get dolled up in my hair, make up, heels etc.  I wanted to celebrate motherhood looking and thinking on top of my game.  ;-) That's all I ever want LOL.  I pin curled my hair .........which gave me this FABULOUS sort of Old Hollywood side flowing curls and applied a full face of make up (Nothing says glam like a red lip!).

I had been waiting for the perfect occasion to where this dress I got last year from an online store called Sabo Skirt. <3 <3 <3

 Shoes-Bakers
Color of Nails - White :-)
I thought I should capture this idea in Black and White!

I felt soooooo good on the inside and out! I was radiating with confidence.......which is why I kept making Skylar take more photos! haha

As a little girl I wanted to be a fashion designer and/or stylist! I have a knack for fashion and over all imagery! Although I have yet to finish my Fashion Design degree....I think it is appropriate to say I am a Stylist in all areas. "I am a every women, it's all in me........!!! Anything you want done babay I'll do it naturally"! LOL

I love what I do and my industry! I am truly passionate and use "it" in all areas of my life.  I understand the feeling of getting dressed with all the small details that make a big difference for only a couple of hours.  To "play a part" and "dream" of an image you were not born with.  It really means the world to some of us and I am here to make that happen! I have a journey ahead of me and I am ready to stay on the road I was born to take!! :-)

Here is to.........the glamorous side of black and white PLUS.....LIVING OUT YOUR DREAMS!! ;-)

I SAY YES......YES TO.....B-B CREAM!!

I have seen it on commercials and heard about it on-line.  I never truly thought I would use or need it.  But as time went on I really wanted a tinted moisturizer to use on "no make-up days" but still look put together.  Not only does BB Cream do that, but it seriously makes my skin seem light, healthy and soft.

I am wearing Dream Fresh Beauty Balm Deep Sheer Tint by Maybelline $8.00 (From Target) Natural lighting from my kitchen @ 10am
  •  Blurs imperfections
  • Brightens
  • Evens skin-tone
  • Smoothes
  • Hydrates
  • Enhances
  • Protects with SPF 30
  • 0% Oils and heavy ingredients

I can also use it as a primer if I am applying foundation for nights out or during the winter months.  I really like the idea of makeup and skin care combinations!! It will improve your skin over time, NOT break it out!!  I"M ON THIS TRAIN!! and want to learn more about it!!

During the spring and summer months make-up can sweat off, melt off and look unflattering.  Most of us need something lightweight to give our skin a nice shimmery glow.  This cream is sheer, so it DOES NOT give you full coverage!  Acne, pimples or blemishes will not be covered by this product only, so it's perfect for use with concealer and/or powder.

I would also suggest this if you are new to the foundation world. :-)) You could also try Tinted Moisturizers, Glow Creams, CC Creams etc.! Have you jumped on this train? lol Let me know what you think.

Here's to Beauty Balm 8 in 1 :-)......

Are you wearing make up?.... Of course not LOL

Love Candy Girl!!
